Forward Controls 23 cm Advanced for Kawasaki Eliminator 500 with ABE | Burchard Excellence

Now Available: Forward Controls 23 cm Advanced for the Kawasaki Eliminator 500 with ABE

The Kawasaki Eliminator 500 combines classic cruiser design with modern technology and thus appeals to riders who want to combine relaxed riding with individual style. However, especially on longer routes or for taller riders, it quickly becomes apparent: The standard foot peg position is not optimal for everyone.

With the new 23 cm forward controls from Burchard Excellence, a precision-fit solution is now available that takes ergonomics, technology and design to a new level – developed and manufactured in Germany and with ABE for legal use on public roads.

Forward controls 23 cm advanced for Kawasaki Eliminator 500 by Burchard Excellence

Developed for the Kawasaki Eliminator 500

The forward controls were specifically designed for the Kawasaki Eliminator 500, taking into account the geometric characteristics of this model. They are suitable for types EL450A, EL450B, EL450C and EL450D and completely replace the original system.

The forward displacement is 23 cm, measured from the centre of the original foot pegs to the centre of the new system. To maintain or even improve lean angle clearance, the height level of the new foot pegs – depending on the version – is raised by approximately 1.5 to 2.5 cm.

Focus on Ergonomics: More Comfort on Long Rides

Forward controls are among the most effective ergonomic modifications in the cruiser segment. The forward-shifted seating position creates noticeably more legroom, the knees are relieved and the hip position opens up.

Especially on longer tours, this relaxed posture makes a noticeable difference: fewer pressure points, less fatigue and an overall more harmonious riding feel. Particularly for taller riders, the Kawasaki Eliminator 500 becomes significantly more suitable for long-distance riding.

Material, Craftsmanship and Finishes

Like all products of the Burchard Excellence brand, these forward controls are entirely developed and manufactured in Germany. High-quality steel is used, standing for stability, precision and durability.

Two surface finish options are available:

  • Nickel-plated
  • Black matt powder-coated

The desired version can be conveniently selected via the variant options in the shop.

Design Options: Sundance Look or Ness Style

The forward controls can also be visually customised. Two style options are available for the foot pegs:

  • Sundance Look: Multiple small rubber rings (O-rings) for a classic, timeless custom bike style.
  • Ness Style Look: Wide rubber rings for a modern, minimalist appearance.

The shift and brake levers are milled and feature two elongated holes. This detail emphasises the modern character of the system and perfectly matches the clean design of the Eliminator 500.

Technical Details for Precise Riding

Beyond aesthetics, technology plays a central role. The shift and brake levers are grease-bearing mounted and equipped with H1 grease nipples. This eliminates any play in the system – shifting and braking remain precise and defined.

Additionally, the ball joints can be maintained with spray oil, further extending the lifespan of the system. Recommended maintenance: fully grease once before the start of the season and then service as needed.

ABE and Legal Certainty

The forward controls come with a General Operating Permit (ABE). This is available from December 2025, with delivery of the systems starting from early January 2026.

The ABE enables legal installation without additional registration in the vehicle documents – provided all conditions stated in the ABE are met. This makes the modification not only comfortable but also legally straightforward.

Scope of Delivery and Installation

Delivered as a completely pre-assembled forward control system including all required components:

  • Pre-assembled forward controls
  • Brake line (650 mm, 20° eyelet, M10 x 1 male thread)
  • Feed hose
  • Hydraulic brake light switch
  • Complete fastener set
  • ABE from the Federal Motor Transport Authority

The original mechanical brake light switch is replaced by a hydraulic brake light switch mounted directly in the brake cylinder. The electrical connection uses the existing original cables.

Installation is divided into brake side and shift side. Detailed installation steps with dimensions are included in the enclosed instructions.

Spare Parts and Service

Another advantage of the Burchard Excellence systems: All individual components are also available separately as spare parts. Should wear or damage occur over the years, the system can be easily repaired or adapted.

Conclusion: Thoughtful Ergonomics for the Eliminator 500

The 23 cm forward controls from Burchard Excellence are a thoroughly engineered solution for anyone who wants to upgrade their Kawasaki Eliminator 500 ergonomically and visually. High-quality materials, precise technology, individual design and legal certainty through ABE make them a worthwhile upgrade for everyday use and touring.
